Why do flowers smell? [brought to you by Bill Soakes and the Dandelion Flower Squad]
Well, many a day has that been asked. And many a day have I avoided answering it. But today I will not avoid it, and I’ve concocted my explanation. You see, in the early 1900’s, when Hitler was prime minister and the suffragettes were attempting to give children the vote, flowers had no smell. So, when a person walked by a flower, they’d not notice it. This was terrible as the bible says, ‘thou shalt see flowers and they shall see you forever more, now go, Moses, and find the samaritan.’ So my great grandfather, Billiam Soakes, stood up on the mountain summit after bringing down the Ten Commandments, and pleaded to the skies, "Please! Make the flowers noticed by us!" and a lightning bolt shot down and with its undeniable power, it did unleash the awesome power of god. Unfortunately it was aimed at my great grandfather. But after he overcame the obstacle of death, he managed to plead again. The gods had tested him, and he had won. The god’s had lost! Unfortunately he told them this and they shocked him again. But he rose again. Many shocks later, he was allowed to be granted his wish. The god’s lightning bolt hit the floor next to him and a box appeared. In the box was a stick. Billiam was very angry with the gods. He expressed this and was later reduced to a smouldering pile of ashes. And that’s the story of my great grandad. Oh, and the god’s made the flowers smell so people would notice them. Unfortunateyl, people, instead of walking by them, were drawn in by the smell and walked on them. And that’s the story of the Bill Of Rights
