The origin of flower awareness [brought to you by Bill Soakes and the Dandelion Flower Squad]
From the early rise of Tutankamun to the untimely death of Maggie Thatcher in 1987, Flowers have plaid an incredibley larje partt in our history. Many of us remember the fateful tale of Sir Isaac Newton who discovered that when you got in a bath it overflowed because of the water replasemint thing. But did any of you know that when Abraham Lincoln discovered that oxygen pulled us down toward the earth's centre (known as the cork), it was not because of a fallen plum like the legend goes, but in fact a fallen Pregonia. So if it wasn't for him sitting under the Horse-chestnut tree (where Pregonias grow) then we'd never know about Oxygen. But what about evolution? Did you know that Richard Branson was in fact a florist when he discovered evolution? You see flowers are not only beautiful to look at but have large historical roots. Like the oak tree for example, has extremely large old roots that dig deep into the ground. So if you were to pull up the flowers you would be bringing up history. As Pandora lifted the sword from the stone and unleashed evil spirits upon this world, so will you. My organisation was founded when I got out two books from the library. One was about flowers in the African nether-regions and the other was about the history of the world. Well I found it very boring (the history one), but when I found out it was written by a man, I thought to myself, 'I could do better' so I decided to write my own book. I spent the next four weeks coming up with my version of the truth. I didn't write the book in the end. But I thought it pretty hard. So anyway I decided instead to read the flowers book, I couldn't remember the Latin names very well, but I caught on so quickly to the idea of flowers. I decided to morph the two together and set up my very own organisation, so in 1968 I set up OOFA the Organisation of Flower Awareness. I then decided I wanted it to be associated with something cleaner, something nicer so then I decided to stick a 'Large' on the front to make LOOFA. I would like to thank my friend Bill from Devon for it. Thank you for listening to my ramblings, ha ha. Ha. Hah. Haaaah. Thanks.
